Conexon Architecture

As a state-of-the-art object-oriented software environment, Conexon creates, executes and manages all the elements necessary in the activation and management of broadband services.

diagramThe key elements of the Conexon architecture are the Platform, the Adapters and the Business Applications.

Platform - The Conexon platform is a multi-threaded software environment specifically designed to perform in high throughput scenarios. All components under the control of the Conexon platform are inherently multi-threaded. The platform design uses global services (session, transaction, memory, communications) management to allow the platform to be readily extended across a distributed environment.

Adapters - Re-usable software components are the only effective way to leverage rapid advances in technology today. Conexon adapters are the software components through which the Conexon system integrates with an external system, device or data store on any of the four layers of broadband provisioning and service fulfilment.

Business applications - Conexon shortens the new service launch cycle through the use of business applications that incorporate best-in-class business logic into service applications of specific purpose. For example, one business application contains out-of-the-box packages for Residential Data Over Cable service. This application provides the necessary business logic and web-interface logic for Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and/or customers to activate Data-over-Cable services.

Because the business applications run on top of Conexon, all of the associated activation steps are performed simultaneously across all four layers of provisioning and service fulfilment, from updating billing records and provisioning head-end network access to configuring the Subscriber Devices.
