Interactive Enterprise delivers TR-069 support

Dublin, Ireland - August 2nd, 2007 - Interactive Enterprise announced today that it is now supporting the TR-069 standard as part of its Conexon service management solution.  With support for TR-069, service providers can use Conexon to manage the activation and management of broadband services across multiple DSL devices, helping to reduce operational costs and drive greater revenue generation by providing quicker time to market for services.

TR-069(Technical Report 069) is a significantly important standard issued by the DSL forum, which defines the protocol for the remote management of DSL devices or CPEs. It offers an open-based standard where multiple vendors can ensure interoperability between their various DSL devices.  For broadband operators, having a standard such as TR-069 provides greater flexibility and choice in the implementation and management of DSL services.  It also protects investment and cuts down on the cost and time in managing multiple DSL devices from various vendors.

Conexon, the leading broadband service activation and management solution supports the TR-069 specification through the release of an ACS webservices interface.  Using this interface, Conexon can fully manage the configuration of TR-069 compliant devices, enabling the automatic activation and remote management of a broad range of DSL devices. Both services and devices can be centrally managed from Conexon with the delivery of broadband services to the CPE greatly simplified. Conexon also supports the complete range of TR-069 protocols, including TR-098 for QoS, TR-104 for VoIP gateways and ATAs, TR-111 for LAN/NAT devices, WT-135 for STB/IPTV, and WT-140 for network storage

With support for TR-069, service providers can use Conexon as a central point to manage the activation and management of broadband services not just across DSL networks but also DOCSIS, SIP, PCMM and FTTx networks.  This significantly reduces the time to market for introducing new services and also enables significant cost savings and time efficiencies as it eliminates the need for multiple provisioning systems to support the activation of services across different technology platforms.

“Adding support for TR-069 under our Conexon platform further enhances IE’s position as the leading provider of service management solutions for the broadband market,” said Paul McBride CEO, Interactive Enterprise. “Operators can now use Conexon as the one central provisioning platform for service activation and management across multiple technologies.”

Using the TR-069 standard, Conexon also provides service providers with an extensive range of service management modules to support the delivery and management of DSL services.  Enabling enhanced value-add services such as pre-paid services, self-care/self-provisioning functionality, content/access management and QoS tools, broadband operators can effectively manage the customer experience in behalf of their DSL subscriber base.
